The goal is for teams to travel a distance of 422 miles over the course of five weeks via the cardio equipment in the Walton Student Center (bike, treadmill, and elliptical). The race will go from Moberly through Jeff City, Rolla, St. Louis, Hannibal and then back to Moberly.
Teams will be made up of 6 members. Of the 6 team members each exercise will have 2 team members dedicated to that equipment exclusively (2 for the bike, 2 for the treadmill, and 2 for the elliptical).
The breakdown of the 422 miles is as follows: bike → 300 miles, treadmill → 77 miles, elliptical → 45 miles.
Exercise sessions must happen with at least two people. For the purpose of this challenge, NO PROGESS CAN BE MADE THROUGH INDIVIDUAL WORKOUT SESSIONS. Also, at least one time during the five weeks the ENTIRE TEAM must have a GROUP WORKOUT SESSION (all 6 members must meet together).
ALL workout sessions must take place in the Walton Student Center.
Teams can be comprised of CCCB students, staff, faculty, and spouses. When team captains sign up their teams, they must indicate which individuals will perform each particular exercise. Once the challenge begins this cannot be changed. The person that is signed up for the bike must stay on the bike through the duration of the challenge. Switching is not allowed.
There will be sheets available in the student center to log mileage. There also will be a map for teams to track progress as well as see the progress of other teams.
*This activity is to promote wellness, not just physical wellness. It is our hope that this challenge will allow for much time of fellowship with your teammates along with a little healthy competition.
